Online Hypnotherapy for Phobias and Fears
A fear that feels bigger than the situation, and shapes what you avoid, can quietly limit your life. If a phobia is holding you back, you're not alone, and you're not being irrational. I offer online Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy sessions in English and Polish to support people who live with phobias and strong fears.
What phobia can
feel like
Phobias take many forms. You might recognise some of these:
-
Intense fear or dread of a specific thing or situation, such as flying, heights, driving, needles, animals or public speaking
-
A physical reaction: a racing heart, sweating, shaking or feeling faint
-
Knowing the fear is out of proportion, but not being able to switch it off
-
Planning your life around avoiding it
-
Worrying about the fear before it even happens
-
Feeling embarrassed or frustrated with yourself
Often a phobia is an automatic response that your mind has linked with danger. Understanding it is a good first step.
How Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy can support you
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) combines CBT-based techniques with hypnotherapy. In our sessions, we:
-
Understand your fear. We explore what it means to you, when it began and what keeps it going.
-
Use hypnosis. In a calm, focused state, we work with the automatic response linked to it.
-
Change the picture gradually. Step by step, at a pace you choose, we practise new ways of thinking about and responding to the situation.
-
Plan and review. We agree goals together and review progress at your pace.
I can't promise a particular result, because everyone responds differently. What I can offer is a calm, structured space and tools to work with.
What working together
looks like
We start with a free discovery call, where we talk about what's been happening and whether working together feels right. Sessions then take place online by private video call, usually weekly at the start. Where it helps, you'll be invited to practise simple exercises between sessions.
Is hypnotherapy right for phobias?
Hypnotherapy works alongside medical care, not instead of it. If avoiding something is affecting your health, for example avoiding medical or dental care, please speak to your GP as well.
Online sessions in English and Polish
I work in both English and Polish, so you can talk about what you're feeling in the language that feels most natural. All sessions are online, so you can join from a quiet room at home.
Questions about hypnotherapy for phobias
Can hypnotherapy help with phobias?
Many people find hypnosis deeply relaxing, and CBH gives you practical ways to work with your response to what you fear. I can't promise a specific outcome, because everyone responds differently, but the discovery call is a good chance to talk about what you'd like from sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you're working with and what you'd like to change, so there isn't one number that fits everyone. We review progress together as we go, and nothing is rushed.
Will I have to face what
I'm afraid of?
Not before it feels like the right moment. We work at a pace that feels safe, and you stay in control throughout.
Which phobias do you work with?
I work with a range of fears and phobias, such as flying, heights, driving, needles, dental anxiety, fear of spiders, insects, animals, fear of public speaking, lifts, lunnels, public transport, fear of water, and blushing or being visibly anxious.
If yours isn't listed, get in touch and we can talk it through.
