What trouble sleeping can feel like
Sleep problems look different for everyone. You might recognise some of these:
-
Lying awake with thoughts going round and round
-
Trouble getting to sleep
-
Waking in the night and finding it hard to settle again
-
A body that feels tense or wired at bedtime
-
Dreading bedtime, or worrying about not sleeping
-
Feeling tired and foggy the next day
Worrying about sleep can itself make sleep harder, which is why understanding this cycle can be a helpful first step.
How Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy can support you
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) combines CBT-based techniques with hypnotherapy. In our sessions, we:
-
Understand what keeps you awake. We look at your thoughts, tension and evening routines, and how they affect each other.
-
Use hypnosis for deep relaxation. In a calm, focused state, we give your mind and body a chance to settle.
-
Build a calmer wind-down. You practise simple relaxation techniques and ways of handling night-time thoughts.
-
Review and adjust. We look at what's helping and refine your plan together.
I can't promise a particular result, because everyone responds differently. What I can offer is a calm, structured space and tools to work with.
What working together
looks like
We start with a free discovery call, where we talk about what's been happening and whether working together feels right. Sessions then take place online by private video call, usually weekly at the start. Where it helps, you'll be invited to practise simple exercises between sessions.
Is hypnotherapy right for trouble sleeping?
Trouble sleeping can have many causes, including physical health, medication and low mood. If it has been going on for some time, or you're worried about it, please speak to your GP. Hypnotherapy works alongside medical care, not instead of it.
If you're in crisis or worried about your safety, please contact your GP, call NHS 111, or call Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night. In an emergency, call 999.
Online sessions in English and Polish
I work in both English and Polish, so you can talk about what you're feeling in the language that feels most natural. All sessions are online, so you can join from a quiet room at home.
Questions about hypnotherapy for sleep problems
Can hypnotherapy help me sleep?
Many people find hypnosis deeply relaxing, and CBH gives you practical tools to work with the thoughts and tension that keep you awake. I can't promise a specific outcome, because everyone responds differently.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you're working with and what you'd like to change, so there isn't one number that fits everyone. We review progress together as we go, and nothing is rushed.
Do I need to see my GP first?
I'd encourage you to speak to your GP if your sleep problems have been going on for some time or are affecting your daily life.
Will I practise anything at home?
Where it helps, yes: simple relaxation and wind-down techniques you can use in the evening.
